What’s the new hot thing in skin care today?
It seems that people are always discovering the ever-changing single “miracle” ingredient that will keep your skin
young and wrinkle free. Is this approach right? Is there always something else we need? Will we always be behind the newest, latest skin care discovery? Or is there a much simpler way?
All of Shear Miracles by Robyn ~ Organic Salon Products skin care are loaded with antioxidant ingredients to stimulate collagen production via intensive free radical scavenging. Instead of always searching for something new, we feel it’s best to approach the entire skin complex from the wisdom of past ages and not focus on just one aspect of the skin, like many modern new systems. Our holistic approach to skin care is to detoxify, nourish, remove free radicals, hydrate and moisturize the skin, while considering the individual needs of each skin type.
Properly caring for your skin involves cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing on a daily basis. It is also important to exfoliate your skin bi-weekly to remove dead skin. Occasionally detoxing your skin to allow for a more effective regeneration process and, since all of our products have specially chosen, health-packed ingredients, maximum nutrient penetration.
Exfoliating
The average person generates a new layer of skin every two to four weeks. At the end of this period, the old skin cells are shed so that the new can come forth.
Many companies lately use Alpha Hydroxy Acids to remove dead skin and claim to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles. Don’t be fooled by the “natural” Alpha Hydroxy Acids! Glycolic acid is a high concentration of sugar fruit acids which causes the skin to be burnt. It is not just a simple fruit acid in its natural concentration!
Exfoliating with a gentle product like Almost Paradise Home Face Lift, can improve your complexion tremendously while giving your skin all the added benefits of milk and honey that we
covered in our last article. Our amazing anti-aging exfoliator, not only effectively removes dead skin, but helps restore skin’s elasticity and tone. Eyebright, a herb that is known to relieve inflammation effectively soothes your skin, while the natural antibacterial and astringent agents have a healing effect on acne, tightening oily skin and alleviating irritated skin.
Neem leaf is also anti-inflammatory making Almost Paradise Home Face Lift the perfect choice even for some sensitive skin types.
You will notice an improvement in your skin’s smoothness, reduction of fine lines, an increase in the capacity of your skin to absorb water (hydration) and less blemishes over time. It will give a fresh look and feel to your skin.
Detoxing
This important step is best done while concentrating internally as well as externally. Detoxing occurs when you remove unwanted toxins from your body. Sounds good, right? How do we do this? Drink enough pure water! According to Leroy R. Perry, Jr. of NaturoDoc, it is suggested to drink at least 1/2 your body weight in oz per day. Water flushes out toxins from your body, helps your organs function better and ultimately gives you clearer, more beautiful skin.
Increase your daily intake of antioxidants. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals that are caused by toxins. Eat more antioxidant-rich fruits like blueberries, raspberries,
strawberries, blackberries, pears, cherries, pomegranates and plums. Increase your greens. The best greens for the job include kale, wheat-grass, arugula, spinach, algae, chard, Spirulina and alfalfa.
Add to your diet herbs and spices that help your body detox like cinnamon, cayenne pepper and turmeric.
Sweat. Yes, I said sweat. Exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday. Sweating gets rid of excess toxins through your skin.
Use a mask designed to assist your detoxing process, such as our Be Clean Organic Detox Mask, on your clean skin a few times per month. This soothing mask made of French Green Clay is an excellent choice because of its super absorbing qualities. Green
Clay is composed of a host of essential minerals, iron oxides, and decomposed plant material such as kelp and seaweed. Beware, this detox mask really works well and if your skin contain toxins, you may break out, as the clay will pull the toxins from your skin.
Regenerating or Moisturizing
Besides hydration, moisturizing your skin is of utmost importance to having radiant, young-looking skin. Omega 3 has been found to help your skin retain moisture. Eat foods that contain Omega 3 like Wild Alaskan Salmon, walnuts, flax seeds, beans olive oil and winter squash. Omega 3s give your skin the ability to retain moisture, so these are very anti-aging.
Besides daily moisturizing, we recommend helping your skin by giving it an extra power packed boost. Why? As we age (and we are all doing that every moment of every day), our skin becomes drier and also looses the ability to produce collagen. Effectively moisturizing your skin will help maintain
your skin’s ability to retain its natural moisture. In our overnight Miracles Happen Organic Rejuvenating Mask, we use ingredients such as organic aloe vera, organic shea butter, organic honey, organic oils of: coconut, avocado, hemp seed, and sunflower, just to name a few. These ingredients work with your body’s own natural regeneration and healing process as you sleep to keep your skin looking fresh and beautiful. You have to try this one! It is feels more like a lotion than a mask and in the morning when you rinse it off, you will feel like you have brand new skin. This one is my personal favorite.
